Alan Bowman joined the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade in 1996. At Headquarters, he served as deputy director of the International Economic Relations and Summits Division from 2001 to 2004, director of the Asia-Pacific Policy Division from 2004 to 2005, director of the Regional Strategy Division from 2005 to 2006 and director of the Foreign Policy Research Division from 2011 to 2014. He also served a two-year term as chair of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Committee on Trade and Investment in 2004 and 2005 and had an assignment with the Privy Council Office of Canada from 2010 to 2011. Abroad, he served at the Embassy of Canada to Thailand in Bangkok from 1997 to 2000 and at the Permanent Mission of Canada to the United Nations in New York from 2006 to 2010. Most recently, from 2014 to 2019, he was the minister-counsellor and deputy head of mission at the Mission of Canada to the European Union in Brussels as well as the permanent observer of Canada to the Council of Europe.

Albana Bytyqi is a Member of the Assembly of Kosovo from the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, and board member of the Women Caucus. She is also a member of the Committee for Oversight of Public Finances and Deputy Chairperson of the Committee on Human Rights, Gender Equality, Victims of Sexual Violence During the War, Missing Persons and Petitions. In 2021, Mr.Bytyqi was the most voted candidate in the Municipality of Suhareka. She represents AAK for the first time in the VIII Legislature. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from the University of Pristina.

Albert Krasniqi has over ten years of experience working with civil society organizations in the field of good governance. He began his career with KIRPED, a local think tank and was part of the team for eight years. Mr. Krasniqi worked on democratizations of political parties, capacity building of the parliament and election observation. In 2015 he joined KDI, and led the team to advance monitoring of the Assembly of Kosovo. In addition to that, he has managed successfully the Secretariat of Democracy in Action in observing the local and national elections. Before joining Democracy Plus, Mr.Krasniqi was Program Manager at Westminster Foundation for Democracy in Kosovo.

Albin Kurti is a former Prime Minister of Kosovo, who served as the fourth Prime Minister of Kosovo from February 3, 2020 to March 25, 2020. Mr. Kurti was the leader of the political movement, now political party Vetëvendosje. He has been a member of the Assembly of Kosovo since 2010 in three consecutive legislatures. In the last parliamentary elections, Albin Kurti was the candidate who won the most votes in the country. Albin Kurti has published hundreds of articles and has been invited to speak at various renowned universities at home and abroad. He has also served as Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs in the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo in 2011-2014.

Ms. Alia El-Yassir (Canada) has been working with UN Women since 1997. Prior to assuming her role as Regional Director, she worked with UN Women as Deputy Regional Director and as country-level Representative. In these roles, she has engaged in several inter-governmental fora, various coordination mechanisms, as well as complex programmes and projects for tackling gender equality and women’s empowerment. Before joining UN Women, she briefly worked with UNDP and has work experience in the science/education field. Over the years, Alia has also volunteered with a number of women’s and human rights NGOs. She graduated with a BSc degree from McGill University and pursued post-graduate studies in Education and Gender/Feminism, attaining an MSc degree in Desert Studies from Ben Gurion University of the Negev.

Ana Radičević is the Resident Program Director for the National Democratic Institute’s Regional political integrity program for Southeast Europe, based out of Sarajevo, Bosnia, and Herzegovina. She graduated from the Faculty of Philology at the University of Belgrade and received her Master's Degree in the field of European Studies at the Faculty of Political Science at the University of Sarajevo. Prior to her time in Bosnia, Ana’s two decades of service for democracy assistance organizations included positions in NDI’s Kosovo, Serbia, and Washington, DC offices, where she managed political party and parliamentary programs working with senior government and political party officials, as well as with media, foreign embassies, international organizations, aid agencies, and research institutions to support democratic culture and civil society initiatives. She conducted numerous training and took part in democracy assistance programs for NDI in Southeast Europe and Westminster Foundation for Democracy in Central and West Africa.

Ann Christin Linde is a Swedish politician of the Social Democratic Party who has been serving as Minister for Foreign Affairs since 2019. Minister Linde previously served as Minister for Foreign Trade and Minister for Nordic Cooperation. Before that, she was the Minister for European Union Affairs and Trade in 2016. Throughout the 1990s, she worked in government offices, including the Ministry Secretary of Civil Affairs and the political advisor of the EU and Trade Minister Mats Hellström, Foreign Affairs and of Defense Minister Björn von Sydow of the Ministry of Defense. She served as State Secretary for the Ministry of Home Affairs. She worked as Secretary of State at the Ministry of Justice. She was the head of the International Department of the European Socialist Party in Brussels, an umbrella organization for all social-democratic parties in the EU. Minister Linde has previously been an international secretary at the Social Democratic Party in Sweden from 2000 to 2013. She was an International coordinator at the Swedish Social Democratic Party group in the Riksdag and a Political Adviser in the Ministry for Foreign Affairs from 1994–1998. Minister Linde was also engaged as an Inquiry Secretary in the Swedish Social Democratic Party group in the Parliamentary Committee on European Union Affairs, she has worked as a Desk Officer at the Ministry of Public Administration and Ministry for Foreign Affairs. She holds a Bachelor Degree in political science, sociology and economics in Stockholm University and upper secondary school: technical programme,telecommunications specialisation.

Arben Loshi is the Director of the Directorate for Research, Library and Archives (DRLA), within the Assembly of Kosovo. Arben, has more than 14 years of professional experience starting as Senior Legal Officer within Department for International Legal Cooperation, in criminal and civil matters of Department of Justice of UNMIK and Ministry of Justice of Kosovo, and in 2010 started working in Kosovo Assembly, as Senior Officer for European partnership and from 2012 leading the DRLA. In addition to his primary duties from 2014 to August 2020, Arben was the Chairman of the Commission for Resolving Disputes and Complaints, within the Assembly of Kosovo, from 10 August 2009 – 06 June 2010, he was Deputy Chairman and Member of the Inter-institutional Commission for Assessment of Administrative Practice in the Field of Access to Official Documents. Based on a decision from the previous President of Kosovo Mr. Hashim Thaci, he was a member of the Preparation Team for Establishing the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, team in charge to draft the normative act for the establishment of the TRC. Prep Team completed its work by 31 October 2020. Mr. Loshi is a graduated lawyer with an education background which encompasses a Master degree in International Law within the Faculty of Law, University of Prishtina. Also, extracurricular activities such as the completion of two years International Executive Program for Parliamentary Staff offered by McGill University, Montreal, Canada, School of Politics offered by Prishtina Institute for Political Studies and Council of Europe and completed the School of European Integration. Arben, also participated in a number of specialized trainings and internships, such as: programs organized by House Democracy Partnership of the US Congress, Parliament Hill, Canada, EU Parliament, etc.

Arbënesha Kuqi is from the Municipality of Gjakova. She finished her master's studies in the field of economics. She works as a Coordinator at the Kosovo Insurance Bureau. She is the President of PDK's Women's Wing in Gjakova and the Vice-President of the Women's Wing at the national level. Mrs. Kuqi is a Week of Women and WLA alumna from the cohort of 2018.

Arbërie Nagavci is the Vice President of the Kosovo’s Assembly and member of the Presidency of Vetëvendosje party. She is a Chair of the Kosovo Delegation in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. She finished her bachelor studies at the Faculty of Law and bachelor studies in Albanian Language and Literature, University of Prishtina. Moreover, Nagavci holds a Master’s Degree in International Law from the University of Prishtina. During her first term as an MP, Nagavci was a member of the Committee for Education and the Committee on Budget and Finance.

Ariana Musliu Shoshi was elected as a member of the Assembly of Kosovo for the first time and represents Democratic Party of Kosovo - PDK. She finished her primary and high school in Pristina and then moved to Pennsylvania, United States as an exchange student in Conrad Weiser High School. After returning to Kosovo she attended the University of Pristina, earning a bachelor degree in Political Science. At the same time she got another bachelor degree in Public Policy and Management at American University in Kosovo (RIT, USA). Her career started with her internship in the office of the Permanent Secretary in the Kosovo’s Government in 2006. In 2007, she started working in the Assembly of Kosovo as a Senior Officer for International Relations. She earned her master’s degree in Public Administration at American University in Kosovo (RIT, USA) and another master degree in International Relations and Diplomacy at Oxford University, UK. Musliu-Shoshi, represents the Kosovo’s Assembly as a national coordinator in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Parliamentary Assembly of NATO, European Parliament, EUROPEAN UNION-KOSOVO Stabilization and Association Parliamentary Committee (SAPC), Parliamentary Assembly of Francophonie, and Parliamentary Assembly of the South-East European Cooperation Process.

Atifete Jahjaga – President of the Republic of Kosovo (2011 – 2016) Atifete Jahjaga served as the fourth, and the first woman President of the Republic of Kosovo. Jahjaga is Kosovo’s first non-partisan candidate, the first female head of state in the modern Balkans, and the youngest female world leader to be elected to the highest office. Jahjaga constantly participates in national and international conferences and initiatives aimed at empowering women and supporting the survivors of sexual violence during the war. She continues to be resolute in her fight against violent extremism and radicalization and a staunch promoter of peace and stability for the Balkans and beyond. During her presidency, Jahjaga worked diligently to bring women to the forefront of Kosovo’s political, economic, and social life as a means of ensuring a long-lasting democracy. In this context, in 2012, she hosted the International Women’s Summit "Partnership for Change— Empowering Women," which was attended by 200 leaders from Kosovo, the wider Europe, North America, Africa and the Middle East. The summit provided a venue for women from the region to cross ethnic barriers and come together to launch and promote a platform for their empowerment as women throughout the Balkans. The discussions led to the creation of the Pristina Principles which affirm the rights of women to political participation and representation, economic resources, and access to security and justice, and calls for actions to make these principles a reality. These principles were adopted as a resolution by the Kosovo Assembly. Jahjaga is a member of the Council of Women World Leaders since 2012 and is recipient of numerous honors and awards, including the Doctor Honoris Causa from the University of Durham (2013), the Leadership in Public Service Award from the Clinton Global Initiative (2014), and the honorary degree of Doctor of Law from the University of Leicester (2015). In March of 2018, President Jahjaga established the Jahjaga Foundation- an initiative that focuses on youth and women empowerment towards achieving social change in Kosovo.

Avdullah Hoti has served as the Prime Minister of Kosovo since June 3, 2020. He served as the Minister of Finance of Kosovo between 2014 and 2017 in the PDK/LDK coalition government. Mr. Hoti is a former First Deputy Prime Minister, former Minister of Finances and former Head of the Parliamentary Group of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) in the sixth term of the Parliament of the Republic of Kosovo. He has an active role in the European Union-mediated negotiations between the governments of Serbia and Kosovo. Mr. Hoti joined the political party LDK in 2006. He was elected as Deputy Mayor of Pristina in the 2008 communal elections and served until 2013. Mr. Hoti was the coalition's candidate for Prime Minister of Kosovo in the Kosovar parliamentary election of 2017. He became the head of the LDK parliamentary group from 2017 until 2020, when he took office as First Deputy Prime Minister. During 2006-2007 Mr.Hoti served as a Senior Advisor of the Minister of Education, Science and Technology. During 2008-2009 he worked as an advisor for economy of the Mayor of Pristina and then as Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Pristina during 2010-2013. He has been a member of the General Council of LDK since 2006 and a member of the Presidency of LDK since 2010. Since 2011, he has managed the LDK Council of Experts. He finished his Bachelor studies at the University of Pristina and continued with his Master’s and PhD studies at Staffordshire University, United Kingdom. In 1998, he began his teaching career as Teaching Assistant at the University of Pristina in the Economic Department, and since 2017, he has been a regular Professor.

Bashkim Ramosaj is the mayor of the municipality of Decan, he served as mayor for two mandates. He is a political activist, member of AAK, and founder of the AAK branch in Carrabreg. Later on, he was organizational secretary of AAK branches in Decan, head of the local assembly caucus of AAK, he served as Secretary General of AAK branch in Decan. He is the initiator of establishing the Firefighting Service and the commander of the service. Served as the Director of theDepartment of Administration in the municipality of Decan. Member of the Administration Evaluation Collegium during 2010-2017. Compiler of 40 Municipal Regulations in the Municipality of Deçan.

Ms. Blerinë Ukshini, joined Democracy for Development Institute (D4D) in 2017, working in the programs of "Elections and political parties'' and "Governance and Public Interest''. She has completed her Bachelor's studies in Political Science at the University of Prishtina, and currently is completing her Master's studies, majoring in European Integration and Public Administration. She was part of different pieces of training and programs, including the Dialog Academy organized by OSCE missions in Kosovo and Serbia. In 2016, she was in Slovenia as part of the EVS program, where she volunteered to aid people with disabilities for 6 months. Prior to this period, she participated in the “Week of Women'' and "Leadership Academy'' programs organized by NDI and USAID respectively, within which she was part of two initiatives, EKOSOVA and Growing Healthy. She is committed to the causes aiming at the empowerment of young women and women in politics.

Christina Davis is a Director of Democracy and Governance Office, United States Agency for International Development (USAID). She attended Smith College in Massachusetts where she received her B.A. She received her M.A. in Economics from Western Illinois University. Christina held various jobs before joining USAID including working as a vet tech, study abroad manager, agricultural extension agent, and teacher. In addition, she worked as a community and economic development manager where she conducted strategic visioning programs for small towns in Illinois. She also worked in urban planning and writing comprehensive land use plans. She served as a U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer in Zambia. She joined USAID in 2008 and has served in Jamaica, Afghanistan, and Colombia prior to coming to Kosovo. She is the Director for the Office of Democracy and Governance.
